9th Annual Women’s Entrepreneur Panel

Have you ever pondered what it would be like to leave a corporate job to strike out on your own? Or to purchase and run a small company to build real enterprise value?

Join us for our 9th Annual KEWN Entrepreneur Panel and hear about how and when to make this transition from Susan Silver (’94) and Lis Settimi (’98), two savvy Kellogg alumnae have followed their passions to craft successful paths on their own terms.

This panel session provides valuable insights from accomplished Kellogg alumnae who have successfully transitioned to entrepreneurship.

Susan Silver ‘94

Susan left big company marketing roles (Kraft and Merisant) to launch Argentum Strategy Group in 2006. Realizing that she didn't relish the thought of rising through the ranks of management, Susan decided to focus on doing what she loves most—marketing! Now in its 20th year, Argentum serves as wise counsel and "Timeshare VP of Marketing" to small and mid-sized businesses across both B2C and B2B verticals. She specializes in helping her clients be more concise with their messaging and focused in the marketing tactics they use.

Elisabeth “Lis” Settimi ‘98

Lis spent six years at The Clorox Company before deciding that "small and scrappy" was more her cup of tea. As the largest franchisee in The Bar Method fitness studio system, she built

The Bar Method Chicago into one of the top fitness brands in the Chicagoland area with thousands of clients and a cult-like following. In 2020, she purchased Char Crust Dry-Rub Seasonings, maker of the secret ingredient of steakhouses, country clubs, and more via a self-funded search. Under Lis' leadership, the brand has expanded to twelve flavors and is on track to expand to a larger audience of professional chefs and home cooks.

Whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur, a business owner, or interested in supporting women‑led enterprises, this panel offers valuable takeaways, inspiration, and practical lessons learned.
